Tokaikan

An old hot spring Ryokan hotel, with its three-story wooden architecture from the early Showa era, has become a prominent attraction in Ito. It’s registered as a designated cultural property of Ito City, featuring detailed different interior decorations on each floor and in every room crafted by various skillful artisans.

Sweet House Wakaba

Established in 1948, it’s a coffee shop with a long history. This family-run coffee shop is known for its hand-made soft-serve ice cream, skillfully adjusting the taste balance along with the changing seasons. Mokutaro Kinoshita Memorial Museum

Mokutaro Kinoshita was a multifaceted talent – a doctor, poet, dramatist, and art critic. Explore his numerous achievements in this museum, housed in a Meiji 40-era building with its original exterior, now a designated cultural property as the oldest private house in Ito City.

Ito Orange Beach

It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Ito Station and downtown hot spring area. This beach features swaying palm trees and Phoenix palms, creating tropical atmosphere.

Ito Marine Town

At this roadside station, you can enjoy an entire day with a tourist information center, the “Ocean Bazar” with souvenir shops and restaurants with local products and ingredients of Izu Peninsula, the ocean view day-use hot spring house “Seaside Spa”, pleasure boats and the longest 43m footbath in Kanto Region.

Renkei-ji

The temple was built on Yasaburo Funamori's property, known for saving Nichiren from drowning in the sea, and it includes Yasaburo and his wife’s tomb in honor of this act. At the end of March, you will find a weeping cherry tree in full bloom.

Komuroyama Park

Komuroyama Park is a nature park on a 321m-high mountain, Komuroyama. It’s known as a flower park where you can enjoy 100,000 azaleas in the spring, as well as hydrangeas, camellias and cherry blossoms and more throughout the year. Additionally, you will find a city general sports field, a baseball field and tennis courts in the park.

Komuroyama Lift

The Komuroyama Park features a sightseeing lift that takes you to the summit, where you'll discover a wooden deck and a boardwalk offering panoramic views of Mt. Fuji, Sagami Bay, the Boso Peninsula, Izu Islands, including Ooshima, and the peak of Mount Amagi.

Kawana Stained Glass Museum

In this museum, you will be surrounded by plenty of traditional 1800s stained glass pieces, inherited from England. Antique music boxes and the melodious tones of a pipe organ, along with the scent of aromas, will lead you into a mystical world.

Ippeiko Lake

This Ippeiko Lake, known as one of the eight best scenic spots of Ito called the “Eye of Izu”, is a bottle-gourd-shape lake with a beautiful landscape measuring 4 km in circumference. There are trails in the middle of woods around the lake, where you can enjoy the enchanting transition of changing seasons: cherry blossoms and young green leaves in the spring and trees of leaves in autumn tints.

Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art

This is the first museum specialized in modern art in Japan with a unique space design by a Japanese sculptor Bukiki Inoue. The main theme of this museum is “Human beings”, and many remarkable masterpieces by Renoir, Picasso and other famous painters are on permanent display.

Mt. Omuro Lift

Reaching to the top of the mountain, you will find a stunning 360°panorama view of Sagami Bay, Mt.Fuji and Mt.Fuji with a 4-minute ride on a 305-meter-long lift, ascending 139 meters in elevation. Additionally, you can enjoy archery at the summit of the mountain.

Izu Shaboten Zoo

It’s located at the foot of Mt. Omuro and you will find a variety of cactus and fleshy plants from all over the world. Additionally, you can spend a heartwarming moments as you watch capybaras in the hot spring, uncaged squirrels, peacocks, and much more! Ito Granpal Park

It’s a park located between Ito’s downtown and Atagawa, at the foot of Mt. Omuro. This park features a lot of attractions, such as the Tokai area's longest 180-meter zip-line. Since November 2015, a spectacular illumination has been added, creating an enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

Pottery Atelier Ennokama

It’s a pottery workshop atelier located at the foot of Izukogen and Mt.Omuro. You can experience the hand-building, wheel throwing and painting. You can design your original piece by selecting the color and texture for your pottery.

Izu Teddy Bear Museum

This museum exhibits the history and culture of Teddy Bear. Its star attraction, 'Teddy Girl,' made headlines when it fetched a remarkable 18 million yen at an auction in London. Alongside this iconic bear, the museum shows a collection of over 1,000 Teddy Bears on permanent display. At the tea room, you can enjoy Teddy Bear-themed desserts.

Jogasaki Coast (Suspension Bridge)

The Jogasaki Coast is a magnificent lava-rock coastlines formed by the sea erosion after the lava flowed into the sea upon the eruption of Mt. Omuro. There are 9km hiking trails starting from Kadowaki Lighthouse. The highlight of these trails is the 48m-long suspension bridge on a sheer cliff with a thrilling height of 23m.

Kawazu Bagatelle Park

Mishima Sky Walk

Opened on December 14th, 2015, this 400-meter-long suspension bridge stands as the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. Take a walk on a bridge that connects Izu and Hakone and enjoy the wide landscape of Mt. Fuji, Suruga By, and Izu mountains.

Toi Gold Mine

During the Meiji to Showa periods, this gold mine ranked second in mining volume in Japan, after the Sado Gold Mine. The mining scene is reproduced with life-size miner dolls.
